Jonathan Villeneuve’s sculpture Les chargeurs de potentiels comes to life each evening at dusk, with the help of energy collected from hidden solar panels. What seems to be an industrial object transforms into a poetic object. The kinetic sculpture hints at the tension between nature and technology. It looks like a power shovel for a construction site, but for a few moments around sunset every day it creates a poetry of light and movement, using the accumulated energy captured by hidden solar panels. People walking by may see it inert many times and just happen to be walking by just as it comes to life.
