Optoelectroacoustics hardware

Eastern Bloc (Montreal), Vaste et Vague (Carleton).

The TVDESTROY HARDWARE makes it possible for anyone to practice optoelectroacoustics at home.

Media: DIY Kit connected to the composite video and audio inputs of a television.

Dimensions: 3"x2"

The TVDESTROY HARDWARE is an electronic module that parasitizes televisions. Attached to its host, it transforms the electrical signal into abstract and radical audiovisual animations. The project is reminiscent of Tristan Perich's "1 bit symphony" (http://www.1bitsymphony.com/) where digital media is not a recording (and therefore a copy), but where it is generated and performed in real time. The TVDESTROY HARDWARE builds upon this concepts by adding visuals and interactivity.
